3S Assessment:
Find your best next step
Move from having a strategy to being strategic.
Strategic thinking is a limited resource, and an expensive one at that. Knowing where to apply it matters as much as deciding what to do with it. the 3S Assessment explores
Strategy—whether your direction is clear;
Systems—how everyday operations support it; and
Sequencing—which capabilities need to develop, and in what order.
Building on what is already working, it identifies strengths, gaps and practical priorities—helping you focus your strategic attention and delivery effort where they can make the greatest difference.
Strategy:
When we accept that the future is unpredictable and a lot of things happen that are out of our control the approach to strategy changes. Strategy becomes about understanding the desired direction, grounded in purpose and values, not a fixed destination or an inflexible plan. Strategy makes explicit the game you’re playing, why it matters and who you’re playing it with, providing an enduring basis for decisions as circumstances change.
Systems:
Your operating model. How the people, processes, structures, tools and relationships that turn strategic intent into everyday delivery. and how everyday delivery compoundes to deliver strategic outcomes. Understanding each of the elements in your organisation that drive delivery, how they work and how they work together to reveal what supports progress, where unintended consequences arise and what needs to change, and what needs to improve to deliver on your strategy.
Sequencing:
Applying organisational maturity models to assess each part of your operating model and establish how mature it needs to be to deliver your strategy. Turning that insight into the steps to deliberately uplift organisational capability. This can be used to identifying the best next step and focusing strategic effort where it matters most, given your current operating context. Creating a balance between what’s now and what’s next.
